Alameda Corridor BNSF-UP Inaugural Train

The inaugural train, powered by Burlington Northern & Santa Fe and Union Pacific locomotives, passes below the 91 Freeway on the Alameda Corridor.

The $2.4-billion Alameda Corridor project is a 20-mile railroad expressline that connects the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to the transcontinental rail network east of downtown Los Angeles, CA. The corridor opened on April 12, 2002, on schedule and within budget.
