Auburn, WA Commuter Station Photo 3

This is the commuter rail station in Auburn, WA. Built for the Seattle Sounder commuter trains, it was opened on On Sunday, September 17th, 2000. Sounder representatives, local and state officials, invited guests and the general public gathered for a ceremony marking the beginning of commuter rail service in the Seattle area.

The Auburn Riverside High School band was also on hand for the ceremony. Note how the school colors (Blue and Teal) match the colors used by Sound Transit. Given the forests and plentiful water in this area, this a popular color scheme.
