SP 2472 and 2467 doubleheading at the Golden Gate RR Museum

SP 4-6-2's 2472 and 2467 are both in steam doing run-by`s at the Golden Gate RR Museum at Hunters Point, San Francisco, CA. 2472 is owned bye the GGRM and 2467 is owned by the Pacific Locomotive Association.

What makes this photo significant is having Both SP P8`s under steam running together as a double header. This hasn't happened sence the 1950s. Also, it won't happen again for a long long time, because both engines boilers run out `of boiler tube time at the end of this month. Since both clubs have limited funds and manpower, replacing the boiler tubes will be a a very difficult and expense undertaking for them and it may be quite a long while before the work is completed, especially on both engines.
