The Eureka & Palisade "Eureka" # 4 (4-4-0) is being turned on the turntable at the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento during Railfair 99. The little 1875 woodburner is dwarfed by the magnificent Southern Pacific "Daylight" # 4449 (4-8-4) in the background.

On a cool, humid August afternoon in 2000, Grand Canyon Railway Consolidation #18 heads south with the daily Williams Flyer. Afternoon Monsoon rains have added a trickle of water to this normally dry stream bed at MP 4.5.

In the cab of a Ty 42 class 2-10-0 while working on a local freight train out of Wolzstyn.

Up until the late 1980s, Poland was still using quite a bit of steam. After the wall came down, they got rid of their steam locomotives and great numbers very quickly. I heard reports of hundreds of locomotives being exploded with dynamite and scrapped. They did save their steam operation in Wolsztyn near Poznan has a sort of living/working Museum.
