The Mt Rainier Scenic Railroad is a steam tourist railway located in Elbe, Wa. They operate a fleet of historic logging locomotives. Regular passenger trips are offered between Elbe and Mineral. Several special excursions are also operated each year. For more information, visit http://www.mrsr.com

Elbe Railfan Days, June 30th 2001, saw the debut of two newly restored steam locomotives: Curtis Lumber Co. Heisler #2 and Mason County Logging 2-6-2T #7.

Mason County Logging #7 is a 2-6-2T built by Baldwin in 1910 as c/n 34666. She worked log trains out of Bordeaux, Washington until the l940's when she was sold to the Port of Olympia and renumbered #2. She worked the yards of Olympia, Washington until 1958 when she was sold to Charles Morrow who displayed her at the Snoqualmie Falls Railroad Museum until she was sold to Chris Baldo of Willits, California in the early 1990's. Her restoration took over 2 years but the finished product is one of the most unigue logging locomotives operating today.

Tacoma Railfan Days 2000 - Jack Anderson and his crews at the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad hosted Railfan Days at Tacoma, Washington in May of 2000.

Hammond Lumber 2-8-2T #17 and Porter 2-8-2 #17 pull an excursion train up the Milwaukee's famous "Tacoma Hill" while the Tacoma Fire Department has a close look at the source of all that smoke.
