Special Trains : SP 2472 Caltrains March 2002

Southern Pacific #2472 was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1921. It is a 4-6-2 Pacific type. 2427 is owned and operated by the Golden Gate Railroad Museum. On March 30th, 2002 the 2472 operated a round trip excursion from San Francisco to San Jose, CA and return on Caltrain.

We had 500+ passengers and crew and who knows how many polticians(free-bee). the date is March 30th, 2002 and the photograph taken by Jack Pearson with his trusty Sony DCR.
