The United States Postal Service train features a Railroad Post Office (RPO) car built in 1926 by Pullman. The other car of the same vintage is a passenger, lounge car.

Every visitor was given a brochure describing the exhibit. The cover drawing was an accurate illustration of the train.

This train was short but attracted a lot of people in weather that could only be described as terrible. I arrived between rain showers to find the Amtrak Station's parking lot full and parked on the street, I didn't expect that type of attendance period, much less on a rainy day. I was greeted by the Post Office Mascot, I think it was an eagle but it was blue and white? It was friendly. I asked the mascot to say hello to our gang on the Railroading Forum but the bird didn't speak. On the bright side: it didn't bite either.

On to the train. They named it the Celebrate the Century Express as it was "delivering the past to the future". This made me feel pretty old since I remembered the RPO cars on passenger trains when I was young. The train was standing on a track usually used for extra baggage, freight or coaches. This was more of an event than I expected, tents featuring everything from mini doughnuts to DJs playing music surrounded the train.

This picture shows the first three cars of the five car consist. With St. Paul's Amtrak station in the background, the engine is followed by a baggage car, which is followed by the CTC Express Exhibit Car (an Amfleet car I believe). All sport the same new paint for the event.
