Special Trains : CPR Empress Steam Train

Steaming out of the past comes CPR Empress. The resurrected locomotive 2816 re-entered active service in 2001 as a roving ambassador for Canadian Pacific Railway. CPR Empress will now be employed as a significant component of the company's community investment program.

CPR's 2816 is a class H1b Hudson type locomotive built by Montreal Locomotive Works in December 1930. CPR Empress is now the only surviving H1b Hudson and is one of only a handful of preserved and operating CPR steam locomotives in North America.

May 13th, 2002. Headed out at 8am to Mission and drove up looking at possible photo locations knowing on this fast track with a slow road only one shot I would ever get. Eventually just took a long shot down a straight that would be at speed and boy was she moving at this point.
