Seattle's Sounder commuter train is shown arriving at the Auburn, WA commuter station during the inaugural run on Sunday, September 17th, 2000.

Sounder representatives, local and state officials, invited guests and the general public gathered for a ceremony marking the beginning of commuter rail service in the Seattle area.

This was the inaugural run of Sound Transit's Sounder commuter train on September 17th. Sounder links Tacoma, WA with Seattle, WA. Once the festivities at Seattle's Union Station were completed, passengers reboarded the train for the trip back to Auburn. The trip was quick and pleasent. Here the train is shown unloading on the Southbound track at Auburn. Notice that they've allowed space for an additional track which is proposed for the future.
